I’m Chelsea.

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Both of my parents went to BYU. I am one of five children. I was born in Salt Lake City. I was a good Mormon girl. I was proud of that.

And yet, when I turned 16, some things about the church didn’t sit well with me anymore.

Church history. Polygamy. Doctrine. Women’s roles within the church. How the church treated people who identify as LGBTQ+.

I could go on. But, I think you get it.

I struggled deeply with my faith.

I studied. I researched.

And at the age of 17, I decided that it was OK for me to go.

It was gut-wrenching. Heartbreaking. Lonely. Absolutely one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.

But here’s the thing: even though I left the church, Mormonism is still part of me.

And I am part of the church’s story. It’s who I am, and I’ve come to love and accept that about myself.

And I know that I can help people like you. Who are struggling right now.

Experiencing a crisis of faith.

Questioning. Wrestling. Living in the grey. Stuck in indecision.

Cycles of doubt, confusion, betrayal, anger, grief, and shame.

I get it. Truly, I do.

We as humans crave meaning, ritual, story, and belonging.

That’s why I earned bachelor’s degrees in both Religion and Psychology from Dickinson College and then went on to earn a master’s degree in Theological Studies from Boston University School of Theology. I love learning about people’s ways of believing. I am an expert on faith identity development and stages of faith.

Not only do I have the personal experience and the education—but as a certified Life Coach with The Life Coach School, I have tools to help you get the results and clarity you are searching for.

I’m here to be your coach through your faith crisis or faith transition.

I’ll help you find your way—whatever way that is for you.

I’ll never tell you to stay in the church or to leave the church.

That’s not my place. I don’t know what’s best for you.

But I can teach you the skills to process emotion and how to make a decision.

And love yourself through all of it.

I’ve got you.

“Coaching with Chelsea has made me feel more empowered and confident in nearly every aspect of my life. Chelsea was compassionate and patient, and yet also knew when to push me to think about things differently. Because of that, I was able to grow and evolve—in many cases much quicker than I expected.”
